Officials looking for suspect after construction worker injured in hit and run accident


GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a hit and run accident Tuesday morning.

Officials report the accident happened around 8 a.m. on State Road 54 in Switz City. A black SUV traveling west hit a construction worker and then left the scene of the accident.

The construction worker was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for her injuries.

The suspect vehicle resembles a Kia Sorento, 2012 or newer. The vehicle also has a taillight/bake-light out on the driver side and it will have damage to the passenger side rear view mirror and possibly the right front right side of the vehicle from the accident.
