TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The Terre Haute Quarter Midget Track Association is getting ready for change.

Saturday was the last day of racing for the group at its 13th Street location.

Racers, past and present, met for the 60th homecoming celebration. There was farewell racing followed by a special ceremony. Trophies, photos and other memorabilia were also on display.

“Oh it’s great,” said Greg Ewing, Incoming President for THQMTA, “We got a lot of people who had returned, that have had children raced or they themselves have raced. Any time you’ve been in a place 60 years you have a lot of memories. We want to honor the history and legacy of this track.”

The track’s new location could be in the Davis and Houseman area in Terre Haute.

The proposed location is pending a re-zoning request.
