TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – You may notice some neighborhoods in Terre Haute look a little cleaner. That’s thanks to the annual Keep Terre Haute Beautiful effort.

Groups met Saturday morning to pick up trash around the city.

We caught up with a group around 15th and Locust Streets. Volunteers were picking up more than just small pieces of litter, there were larger items like car seats and mattresses in dumpsters.

Organizers say keeping the area clean is a community effort.

“This is a place where I live,” said Jane Santucci, Keep Terre Haute Beautiful, “and I want to show people how great of a city that I live in, and that is best portrayed by having a clean city.”

The annual effort to keep the community clean is put together by Trees, Inc.
