One person air lifted for non-life threatening injuries after accident involving motorcycle and school bus

CLARK COUNTY, Ill. (WTHI) – One person was air lifted for non-life threatening injuries on Sunday after an accident involving a motorcycle and a school bus.

Illinois State Police reports the accident happened on IL 49 near Interstate 70 just before 7 p.m. (CT).

The school bus was traveling south on IL 49 attempting to turn onto the I-70 eastbound entrance ramp in Casey. Officials report the school bus failed to yield for a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was heading north on IL 49.

That is when the motorcycle hit the side of the bus. 

The driver of the motorcycle had to be airlifted air lifted to a hospital in Champaign for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the school bus was identified as Jacquelyn C. Colet, 69 of Charleston.

Colet was charged with failure to yield turning left.
