TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Results are in from the Prescription Drug Take-Back event over the weekend.
Indiana State Police told us Hoosiers turned in nearly 1,500 pounds of unused or expired medications.
Law enforcement agencies partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration for the take-back.
Police say this is an important initiative.
That’s because it helps keep drugs out of the hands of people who would misuse them.
It also helps keep people from improperly disposing of the drugs and allowing them into our ecosystem.
