TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A twist on Relay For Life took place in Terre Haute on Saturday!
It’s called Cure de Cancer and it was held at Veterans Memorial Park at Indiana State University. It was the inaugural event that previews the actual Relay For Life walk.
Event organizers say money and awareness is being raised for all cancers.
Relay For Life of the Wabash Valley now includes Clay and Vigo counties in Indiana, as well as Clark County, Illinois.
“Instead of using the time-tested and true walking around the track with Relay For Life, we decided to do this on bicycles,” said Charlie White, event organizer, “It gives us the chance to get out and do something different and see new people. Hopefully we can get this to grow to be a bigger event.”
The next Relay For Life walk is being held at Rose-Hulman on April 29th.
