One arrested in connection with stabbing investigation in southern Vigo County

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A man who is wanted out of Dubois County was arrested in connection with a stabbing investigation in southern Vigo County.

The incident happened on Bono Road at the Countryside Apartments on Tuesday morning around 7 a.m. Vigo County Chief Deputy Moats told our crew on the scene that two males, Terrance Waelterman (24) and Michael Jones (36), got into an argument in the street. Waelterman told police Jones had stabbed him and then took off.

Officials searched the area for Jones and just before 8:30 a.m. he was located at Love’s Travel Stop on Harlan Drive. Vigo County Deputies learned that Jones was also wanted for an outstanding warrant out of Dubois County. Both Jones and Waelterman had to be taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the dispute.

Jones was then taken to the Vigo County Jail.

Vigo County Sheriff’s Office reports this case is still under investigation.
