WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The West Terre Haute Police Department reports alcohol appears to be a factor in an accidental shooting.
Officers were called to North 6th Street in West Terre Haute just after 3 a.m. on Oct. 29.
They found a 39-year-old female who had a gunshot wound to the leg. She was treated on the scene and then taken to Union Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
West Terre Haute Chief of Police reported in a press release that the female cooperated with police. They believe the shooting was accidental but that alcohol was a factor.
This case is still under investigation.
