TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A local group wants to send a message of love and hope this holiday season…but that message goes way beyond the Wabash Valley.
Members of the First Baptist Church packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child on Tuesday.
The project sends boxes of toys, clothes, and toiletries to kids around the world.
Each box includes The Story of Christ in the Child’s Language.
Volunteers say they’re grateful to help spread the Christmas spirit in 150 different countries.
“The countries are targetted, the ones that have a lot of poverty, wars are going on. The children in those countries get to receive a gift…they get to know somebody cares about them,” Fran Campbell said.
The church will send 232 boxes this year…each one stuffed to the brim.
