INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A police standoff on the southeast side of Indianapolis ended without incident early Friday morning.
Police were called to a home near Southeastern Avenue and Franklin Road just after 2 a.m. for a domestic dispute.
SWAT responded after a 38-year-old man inside refused to let a 35-yer-old woman and her 7-year-old son out of the house. The boy’s 14-year-old brother was able to get out of the home and call police.
The man kept telling police he would come out in five minutes, but he never did.
Around 5:30 a.m., two flash bang grenades were used as SWAT entered the house. The man was taken into custody and no one was hurt. Police say he may have had a pocket knife but was otherwise unarmed.
The man faces an initial charge of violating a court order since the woman had a restraining order against him. He may also be charged with criminal confinement.
