Trent Miles fired from Georgia State

ATLANTA (WTHI) — Another football coach from Terre Haute is out of a job today. Trent Miles has been fired from his post as the head coach at Georgia State. The Panthers were just 2-8 this season under his direction.

Despite some rough seasons, Miles led Georgia State to its first bowl appearance in 2015, which was the school’s third year as an FBS program.

Miles spent five years as the head coach at Indiana State, his alma mater, where he helped build up the program from some very down years. He coached the Sycamores to three-straight winning seasons after winning just one game in the previous two years.

Miles played wide receiver for Indiana State in the 1980s.
