TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A Holocaust survivor shares her story and you are invited!
CANDLES – the local Holocaust museum in Terre Haute, presents “Ida Kersz: Hidden child during the holocaust.”
In 1942, Nazis stormed into Ida’s hometown in Poland. Her mother fled to a nearby building and jumped to her death – leaving behind her 3-year-old twins, Adam and Ida.
Kersz tells her story of hiding, survival and re-connecting with her twin brother in the United States after they led separate lives for five decades.
The event is part of the ‘Be the Change’ film and speaker series. The event is Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the CANDLES museum located on 1532 South Third Street.
Admission is free and open to the public.
