TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Indiana State University wants to continue the conversation about unity.
ISUnity held a panel discussion Monday evening.
Topics centered around recent events in the United States.
Those include Black Lives Matter, Colin Kaepernick, and Back the Blue.
There were representatives from the ISU Police Department, veterans, and supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“Some people don’t understand what these protests or demonstrations mean. So, we’d like them to hear that from people who have really thought about those things and represent groups that have been marginalized,” event coordinator Jennifer Christian said.
She went on to say there will be another event like this one next semester.
Some of the topics that could be discussed are Syrian refugees and the Orlando nightclub shooting.
