TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas Campaign kicked off their holiday season at the Honey Creek Mall in Terre Haute on Wednesday.

The goal for this years campaign is $205,000 and the money raised will go toward supporting Salvation Army programs and services throughout Vigo County. Soon The Salvation Army Red Kettle, one of the most recognizable symbols of Christmas, will be appearing at more than 20 locations in our area.

“The annual Christmas Campaign fuels Salvation Army programs for an entire year,” says, Captain Gordon Hoag, corps administrator at The Salvation Army’s Terre Haute Corps. “Through donations made during November and December, we offer our holiday assistance programs and also fund our year long programs in our Social Services Department like our food pantry and the Pathway of Hope program.”

You can help The Salvation Army by making your donation at one of these locations, by calling 812-232-4081, or by visiting their website.

You can also help by volunteering to ring a bell at a kettle location near you. Just go to RegisterToRing.com and sign up to ring a bell at a time and location that’s convenient for you.
