Standing up for those who don’t have a voice, group draws attention to assault

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One in five women in the United States will experience sexual assault in their lifetimes.

Take Back the Night aims to draw attention to the epidemic.

Wednesday, students, staff, and community members gathered for the annual event at Indiana State University.

There was a resource fair, rally, and march.

The goal of the student-led event is to call for an end to gendered and sexual violence.

The event was organized by students in a gender studies class at ISU.
