Early morning crash knocks out power in West Terre Haute

WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A car crashed into a utility pole around 3:30 Wednesday morning causing power outages.

The accident happened on Paris Avenue in West Terre Haute just off of Highway 150.

The crash caused the pole to snap-in two and power lines were also knocked down.

According to Duke Energy, nearly 600 residents lost power. The Duke Energy website reports power should be restored around 2 p.m.

The driver was not injured.

A cause for the crash has not been determined.
