INDIANAPOLIS (WTHI) — Linton senior quarterback Tyler Meurer tweeted recently that not every story ends “happily ever after.” But for Meurer’s career and the Linton Miners’ season, it certainly did.
In a rare shot at redemption, the Miners came into Lucas Oil Stadium for the second-straight season for the IHSAA Class A state championship. Unlike last season, the Miners emerged victorious, hoisting the trophy after a 34-20 win over Pioneer.
Meurer, who has been a star for Linton all season, was phenomenal. The senior, playing in the final football game of his career, scored five total touchdowns, including four rushing scores.
It was an impressive day for Meurer. After the game, his Miner teammates and coaches had nothing but positive remarks about the Linton standout.
