Medical group celebrates 100 years of service

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A local healthcare system celebrated 100 years of patient care.

Union Medical Group, UAP Clinic, and AP&S Clinic held an anniversary event on Wednesday night.

Current and former employees gathered at the Indiana Theater.

They enjoyed cake and a special anniversary video.

Representatives say they’re excited to be a growing part of this legacy.

“The young physicians are always the future leaders of the organization….and for Terre Haute, this was amazing healthcare for such a long time. Where other communities sometimes really suffer by not having the kind of medical services that Terre Haute has been able to enjoy for a very long time,” Ed Carne, CEO of the Union Medical Group said.

The Union System came about after two physicians visited the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

They modeled the organization off of what they learned there.
