CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene of an early morning shooting in southern Clay County.
The 911 call was made just before 5 a.m. Thursday morning to 6426 West Public Street in Coalmont.
When deputies and first responders arrived, they found 41-year-old William Hiatt with a gunshot wound to the face.
Hiatt was airlifted to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis where he is listed in critical condition.
Police determined the gunshot was self-inflicted.
While investigating, police arrested three people for their involvement in the shooting.
Officers arrested Kenneth Lion, Brandy Hicks, and Desiree Witfield.
All three have been charged with false informing and obstruction of justice.
It is unclear what their involvement was at this time.
