TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The cold couldn’t keep runners away from this race in Terre Haute.

More than 100 people showed up to the Half Moon Half at Hawthorn Park.

It’s a night trail half marathon, 10K, and 5K.

Organizers say it’s a race that tests your strength and endurance in the dark and winter elements.

This is actually a two-part race.

The first round is in the winter, and the next round in the summer.

Organizer Ethan Page says, “The half marathoners get this really cool finishing medal, one of the coolest out there! It’s a half moon, it’s magnetic. So during the summer, they’ll get the other half and they zip together magnetically if they’re able to complete both races.”
