Indian Summer

We are in the midst of what I’ve determined to be a true. “Indian Summer”.  Here are the criteria I use and I believe we have met: !.  We’ve had a hard, mostly killing frost 2. Temperatures have been above average 3.  Days are warm and nights are chilly. 4.  The wind has been light and the sky has been rather hazy. 5.  This is happening after St Martin’s Day, which is November 11th. The above criteria are agreed upon by most Almanac writers and weather folklore specialists. Some years, we don’t have an Indian Summer, but this year’s is nearly perfect.
